The theater mask occupies an important place in actor training, and today it is present in numerous Conservatories and Drama Schools throughout Europe. But what do we learn with the mask? What specific contribution does it bring to learning acting? And how is this practice transmitted today?
In order to answer these questions we visited three places of high training which dedicate particular attention to the mask: the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique de Paris, the Dimitri Theater Academy in Switzerland and ARTA, the Research Association of traditions of the actor at the Vincennes cartridge factory.
This documentary: The teachings of the mask, working methods and objectives for the contemporary scene, is part of university research carried out by Giulia Filacanapa and Guy Freixe. I took on the tasks of director and editor.
